Description
HDMI 8 Way
An 8-Way HDMI splitter is a device that takes a single HDMI source (e.g. a Blu-ray player, set-top box, gaming console, laptop) and duplicates its video/audio signal to up to 8 separate HDMI displays (TVs, monitors, projectors) simultaneously.
key features
-
1 HDMI input → 8 HDMI outputs — distributes one source (e.g. TV box, console, PC) to up to 8 displays.
-
Supports high video resolutions — many support up to 4K (3840×2160) @ 60 Hz (or even “True 4K” / 4K×2K) on all outputs.
-
Backward-compatible with lower resolutions — works with 1080p, 720p, and even older 480i/p — useful if some displays aren’t 4K.
-
Supports 3D video and deep-color / high-color-depth — for richer visuals, when the source and displays support them.
-
HDCP / DRM compliance — many versions support HDCP 1.4 and/or HDCP 2.2, so they can correctly handle copy-protected content (e.g. streaming boxes, Blu-ray, etc.).
-
Multi-channel / surround audio support — supports standard and advanced audio formats such as LPCM, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD, Dolby Digital, DTS, etc.
-
Signal amplification / retiming / stabilization — built-in electronics help maintain signal integrity across 8 outputs and over longer cable lengths.
-
EDID/auto-configuration support — automatically negotiates the best video/audio settings between source and various displays for consistent output
-
Plug-and-play operation — no special driver or software needed; simply connect source + displays + power and it works.
-
Compact and durable build — often with a metal casing (for heat dissipation and durability), and small form factor suitable for home theatre, offices, or AV setups.
